Creana — a space for free creative expression

This year we launched Creana, an informal cultural initiative

This year we launched Creana, an informal cultural initiative — a project that creates space and conditions for free creative expression. The project is open to everyone, but is primarily focused on children and teenagers.

The initiative is implemented with the financial support of Ostlanser and is developing as an independent cultural and educational project.

The first space — in Nepal

The first Creana space opened in Nepal, in the city of Pokhara, on the shore of Lake Phewa. Pokhara is a vibrant and beautiful city, yet many young people there have limited access to creative activities due to social and economic challenges.

Creana became an open and welcoming space where one can draw, experiment, explore, and simply be oneself — without instructions, evaluations, or pressure.

Thanks to the active involvement of local residents and the strong interest from children and parents, the project quickly demonstrated its relevance and uniqueness. The space has become not just a workshop, but a place of trust and connection.

The idea behind the project

Creana is inspired by the ideas of Arno Stern, who devoted his life to the study of free, non-directed creative expression. At the core of the project lies respect for the inner world of each individual and the belief that creativity does not require correction, explanation, or evaluation in order to be meaningful.

We do not teach how to “draw correctly.” We create conditions in which a person can create freely.

What’s next

Our plans include opening new Creana workshops in other countries and regions under the same brand, while preserving the project’s philosophy.

We are happy to consider proposals for cooperation and collaboration — from individuals, initiative groups, educational centers, and organizations interested in opening a similar space in their city or community.

If the idea of free creative expression resonates with you and you see a need for such a place where you live, we would be glad to start a dialogue.
